On this episode of Late Bloomin’ Love, a conversation with a couple who were friends for nearly two decades before any sparks flew between them.
Susan and Jeff, 48 and 44 respectively, were longtime colleagues, and then hiking buddies, who had no thoughts of romance until a fun road trip together took a surprising turn.
They explain to Amanda Klang why they almost didn’t let themselves open the door to love for fear of losing their friendship, why Susan was ultimately willing to risk it all to let Jeff know how she felt, and why it really IS worth being brave and courageous in that way because of what can happen next.

Late Bloomin’ Love is back!
With three brand new summer episodes!
It’s THE podcast about finding love when it's about bloomin'time… with host, Amanda Klang, and guests who join her to talk about love and relationships.
It’s been a while!
But starting next week, Amanda will be bringing you three brand new episodes to round out the summer – a summer you may have spent dating, not dating, in relationship, or not in relationship… but, very likely, thinking about all of it.
Each episodes will consist of a conversation that explores something different:
From a conversation with a Montrealer who never dated before her mid-thirties, when her arranged marriage ended in divorce.
To a chat with a cross-cultural couple whose stark linguistic and religious differences actually drew them together.
And finally to the ultimate late Bloomin’ Love story about a couple who fell in love in their 40s, after being platonic friends - with no secret crushing on either side - for nearly 20 years.
That last episode will drop on Labour Day.
And the others will come, one per week, each Monday before that...starting a week from today.
So keep your your ears tuned!
And meanwhile, enjoy these wonderful, waning days of summer.
